Healing Medusa and myself through photography

This shoot broke me… and healed me all at once.

Medusa has always been one of my biggest inspirations, not because of the monster they said she was, but because of the woman she truly was.

A woman violated, blamed, and cursed for something she didn’t choose.

A woman turned into a warning, when she should have been protected.

Over this past year, I’ve lived her story.

I’ve felt what it’s like to be hurt by someone you trusted.

To be silenced.

To be painted as the villain for simply surviving.

When I first started modeling, it was to feel pretty again, to post “boudoir pose of the day,” because hearing “you’re beautiful” made me feel seen. But now… it’s so much more than that.

Now I use my voice and my photos to tell stories.

To raise awareness about domestic violence, about suicide, about healing.

To show that power and beauty can rise from pain.

For this shoot, I became Medusa, the woman after the curse.

The version who was forced to become something terrifying just to survive.

And when I dyed my hair blonde again for this, it hit harder than I expected.

I wasn’t prepared for how much it would hurt to see myself that way again.

Because I was never allowed to be anything other than blonde.

When I went red, it was rebellion. It was Bad Bitch Kaitie, my armor, my proof that I was strong, that I had control.

But standing there in front of the camera, blonde again, I saw her, the girl who was abused, silenced, and told she wasn’t enough.

And I realized… she was never weak.

She was surviving the best she could.

She was still powerful. Still beautiful.

This shoot was my acceptance of every version of me.

The blonde who endured.

The redhead who rose.

The woman who now stands as both.

Medusa wasn’t destroyed.

She evolved.

And so did I.
